Extremely low performance problem
I have very low performance (and huge packet loss: near 50%) when receiving a Windows Media Live stream in multicast on a 3Com 3CCFE574BT NIC. On the same machine, I have another 3Com NIC that will not have any packet loss for the same stream. Has someone already seen this ? Do you have any fix / workaround ?

-----Original Message----- My HP Pentium IV 1.5 g computer with WinXP is slow!It is not as fast as my Pentium II, much slower, Compaq with Win 98. I assumed the HP would run faster, not slower, than the Compaq. Could it be Win XP that causes it to run more slowly? PCPitstop said it had unusually low performance.

Therefore it is not surprising that replacing the venerable Pentium processor at the low end will be low-end, low-performance Pentium IIs. The Pentium II will also have certain inherent advantages over the Pentium, including faster performance on operations called floating point--used for multimedia and engineering

The low light performance of digital cameras is directly proportional to the size of the pixels in the sensor, and the aperture of the lens. Pretty much all the P&S cameras on the market have pixel spacings less than about 2 microns, and many less than one micron. DSLRs tend to group in the 5 to 8.5 micron sizes.
